The data show the number of total soil insect species and individual insect highest ground in the middle (Kace Bridge) (19 and 109), followed by the middle (12 Bridge) (14 and 305) and the upper part of the upstream (14 and 87), and the lowest downstream (13 and 341). Based on analysis of data obtained vegetation known to large numbers of species and number of individual plant at the upstream location (34 and 145), Kace Bridge (18 and 476), 12 Bridge (10 and 100) and downstream (9 and 91). this research was conducted in four location around the Rangkui watershed downstream section around the peak of the Mall, in the center of the 12 Bridge and Kace Bridge, as well as upstream around Mangkol hill. this information is expacted to be the initial data or comparative data to see changes in Sub-das Rangkui to obtain the best treatment to improve conditions fo Sub-das Rangkui rehabilitation efforts. Keyword : Dolichoderus thoracicus, cacao agroecosytem, cocoa pod borer.īiodiversity in Sub-Das Rangkui, Bangka has not been reported in detail. Individual potency experiment at laboratory showed that each black ant could prey 1.75 – 2.31 CPB larvae per day, indicating the high potential of this ant for controlling the CPB. thoracicus with artificial nest (bamboo+coconut leaf) could reduce about 5% of CPB, suppress the percentage of cocoa bean damage and the percentage of cocoa bean weight loss up to 42.95% and 21.03%, respectively. thoracicus at the soil surface and cocoa trees was clumped with Z < -1.96. thoracicus population compared to cocoa leaf, banana leaf, and the coconut leaf. Artificial nest made from bamboo+coconut leaf for mass rearing attracted higher D. thoracicus at primary branch was higher (about 8-9 times) than that at the base and middle stem of cacao. The results showed that population density of D. thoracicus as biological control at cocoa plantation, and the individual potency of D. thoracicus, to study the dispersal pattern, the role of D. The black ant, Dolichoderus thoracicus, is one of ant species that can be found at the soil surface and cacao trees (cacao agroecosystem) and has been known as a potential biological control agents for controlling the cacao pod borer (CPB).
